Aggregate 副主编 新加坡国立大学 谢建平教授

Dr. Jianping Xie is currently a Dean’s Chair Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at National University of Singapore (NUS). He received his BS and MS in Chemical Engineering from Tsinghua University, China, and his Ph.D. from the Singapore-MIT Alliance (SMA) program. Dr. Xie joined NUS in 2010 and established the BioNanoMetals research group. His group is known for the work on engineering water-soluble metal nanoclusters for biomedical and catalytic applications. Dr. Xie has 190+ publications, 21000+ citations, and an H-index of 78. His research interests include noble metal nanoclusters, nanomedicine, and nanocatalysis. Dr. Xie’s recent research award includes Highly Cited Researcher in Chemistry 2018, 2019 & 2020 (by Clarivate Analytics). Dr. Xie is a Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC).

Ben Zhong Tang is a Distinguished Presidential Chair Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-SZ), China. He is serving as Dean of the School of Science and Engineering at CUHK-SZ and Director of AIE Institute. He received BS and PhD degrees from South China University of Technology and Kyoto University, respectively, and conducted postdoctoral research at University of Toronto. He joined the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology in 1994 and moved to CUHK-SZ in 2021. He was elected to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the Asia Pacific Academy of Materials, and the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries. His research interests include macromolecular chemistry, materials science, and biomedical theranostics. He has published over 1,600 papers which have been cited for over 130,000 times, with an h-index of 161. He has been selected as a Highly Cited Researcher in both areas of Chemistry and Materials Science by Web of Science since 2014. He has received the State Natural Science Award (1st Class) from the Chinese Government, the Scientific and Technological Progress Award from the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation in 2017.

芬兰尤瓦斯吉拉大学 Hannu Häkkinen 教授

Prospects and challenges for computer simulations of monolayer-protected metal clusters and their aggregates

Hannu Häkkinen is a professor in computational nanoscience at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland and a visiting professor in Xiamen University, China. He was selected as the Academy Professor by the Academy of Finland for 2016 – 2020. He has been a member of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters since 2015. His research interests includeelectronic, optical, magnetic, chemical, catalytic, and bio-compatible properties of bare, supported, and ligand-protected metal nanoparticles, as well as electrical conductivity of molecule-metal interfaces in nanostructures. He has published about 260 peer-reviewed articles with over 23000 citations and his h-index is 71 (Web of Science). In 2018, he was listed as one of the “Highly Cited Researchers” by Clarivate Analytics.

清华大学 王泉明教授

Ligand engineering toward the structural control and functional modulation of metal nanoclusters

Quan-Ming Wang is a professor in Tsinghua University. He is serving as vice head of the department of chemistry. He received BS and MS degrees from Xiamen University in 1989 and 1992, respectively. He worked at Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences, during 1992-1998. He received PhD degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2001. He conducted postdoctoral research at University of Rochester and University of California at Riverside. He joined Xiamen University as a professor in 2005 and moved to Tsinghua University in 2015. He received The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2011. His research interests include metal cluster chemistry and cluster-based nanoscience.

日本东京大学 Tatsuya Tsukuda 教授

Chemically-modified gold superatoms: achievements and challenges

Tatsuya Tsukuda is a professor of Department of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science of The University of Tokyo, Japan. He received a Ph.D. degree in 1994 from The University of Tokyo under the supervision of Prof. Tamotsu Kondow. After postdoctoral research at RIKEN, he was appointed Assistant Professor at The University of Tokyo in 1994, and in 2000 he became an Associate Professor at the Institute for Molecular Science in Okazaki. He was promoted to Professor at the Catalysis Research Center of Hokkaido University in 2007, before moving to The University of Tokyo in 2011. His research interests cover the atomically-precise synthesis and characterization of gold clusters protected by ligands and their catalytic applications. He has published over 230 papers which have been cited for over 14,300 times, with an h-index of 58. He has received the CSJ Award for Creative Work from Chemical Society of Japan (CSJ) in 2009. He has admitted as the fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) in 2019 and serving as the senior editor of the Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters (American Chemical Society) from 2021.

印度理工学院 Thalappil Pradeep 教授

Supramolecular interactions of atomically precise noble metal clusters

Thalappil Pradeep is an Institute Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India. He is the Deepak Parekh Institute Chair Professor and is also a Professor of Chemistry. He studied at the University of Calicut, Indian Institute of Science, UC Berkeley and Purdue. His research interests are in molecular and nanoscale materials and he develops instrumentation for such studies. He is an author of over 500 scientific papers in journals and is an inventor of 125 patents or patent applications. 

In addition to the work on advanced materials, he is involved in the development of affordable technologies for drinking water purification and some of them have been commercialized. His pesticide removal technology is estimated to have reached about 10 million people. Along with his associates, he has incubated six companies and three of them have production units. His arsenic removal technology, approved for national implementation, is delivering arsenic free water to about one million people every day. 

He is a recipient of several awards including the Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Prize, BM Birla Science Prize, National Award for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, India Nanotech Innovation Award, JC Bose National Fellowship and National Water Award. He is the winner of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) prize in Chemistry for the year 2018. The nation conferred Padma Shri on him in 2020. He is also the recipient of Nikkei Asia Prize 2020. 

He is a Fellow of Indian National Science Academy, Indian Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Sciences, India, Indian National Academy of Engineering, Royal Society of Chemistry, The World Academy of Sciences and American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is a distinguished professor in a few institutions in India and is also on the graduate faculty of Purdue University. 

He is on the editorial boards of journals such as ACS Nano, Chemistry of Materials, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Communications, Chemistry – An Asian Journal, Nanoscale, Nanoscale Horizons, Particle, Scientific Reports, International Journal of Water and Wastewater Treatment, etc., and is an associate editor of ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering. In 2015, he received the Lifetime Achievement Research Award of IIT Madras. As part of his philanthropic activities, he supports a school in his village where 500 students are on rolls.
